What is the Yoga Alliance?

The YA is one of the governing organization that maintains standards in the yoga world. Their main role is to issue yoga teacher registrations; being a registered yoga teacher shows that you have completed a program that the Yoga Alliance recognizes as legitimate.

They also provide a service for finding yoga teachers or trainings as well as continuing education, community support and enforcement of sexual misconduct standards for yoga teachers and schools.

Do I Need to Register
and How Do I?

Oorjayii Yoga School is a registered school with the Yoga Alliance at 200 Hour Level. If you take our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, you can register easily. All of our teachers are certified with lead trainers at least the 500 Hour level.

You really only need to register  if you are going to teach at a yoga studio who requires their teachers to be RYTs (Registered Yoga Teachers). Being registered can also help you to get cheaper insurance in some places.

If you wish to register, you must go to the YA website and fill out the requisite forms. There is an initial registration fee plus a yearly membership fee. You will have to look at their site to see what the costs are for your needs.

What is YACEP?

YACEP, or Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider®, is a Yoga Alliance designation for individuals that teach continuing education courses. As a YACEP, you can teach courses that will count as Continuing Education hours for RYTs. You can also list your courses on our YACEP Directory. These are specialized courses and one can specialize into any style.
